Space Week took place from the 3rd to the 7th of October.
We had a great time exploring this topic and discovered some very interesting facts.
During English time we read all about Valentina Tereshkova.She was the first woman ever to go into Space and orbit the Earth. We learned all about her early life and all the hard training she did. Finally she launched into Space in Vostok 6 on the 16th of June, 1963. Read all about her in some of the reports we wrote about her life.
Another fun activity we tried was writing our own “Astronomic Address”- This took about ten lines to write! Earth is certainly a small place when we compare it to our universe.
We read some poems about Space. Two of them were : “When I’m an Astronaut” , and“ The Moon”.
