We learned about endothermic reactions today in an experiment which produced 'Soft Snow'. The children combined hair conditioner and bicarbonate of soda. The chemical process requires heat to rearrange the atoms and so draws heat from the surrounding atmosphere. As a result, the new solution was cold.
It was soft and malleable allowing us to make some miniature snowballs and snowmen.
