Science Week
During science week we enjoyed working in groups carrying out experiments and learning new things.
We started the week off examining our cress. As we had taken such good care of it, we were able to cut it and use it to make some very tasty cress sandwiches! We brought our cress home to continue watching it grow and some children have been making cress sandwiches at home for lunch! Well done :)
Next we spent some time learning about the construction of bridges and we were able to use our knowledge to make paper bridges using the triangular support system, allowing our paper bridges to carry cars. This was a lot of fun!
On Friday we revisited an experiment we have done previously - observing the effect warm water has on sugar. We made beautiful rainbow patterns using the sugar from skittles!
Finally, we are observing the effect different liquids have on our teeth. We have placed some eggshells in 4 different cups. The cups contain coca-cola, water, milk and orange juice and we will check back in one week to see if these liquids have altered the eggshells in any way. We'll report back soon :)
