Two of our science experiments this term were ‘What Rot’ and ‘Floating and Sinking’.
-‘What Rot’: over a three week period we monitored and recorded the results of plastic, cardboard and food items buried in a moist compost bucket, covered with clingfilm and stored in a dry and dark cupboard. Our predictions were very accurate!
-‘Floating and Sinking’- in groups, the children made predictions and recorded the results of various items placed in a basin of water…which items sunk and which floated ie a banana with/ without its skin, an orange with/ without its peel. The results were very interesting!
