Sally the Reading Dog Visits St George’s NS

We had a wonderful visitor today in St George's - Sally the Reading Dog!

Sally is from the Burns by Your Side reading with dogs project.

We learned all about Sally and the 5 golden rules for approaching dogs -

• Always ask permission before you pet a dog.
• If given permission, pet the dog's shoulder, not their head.
• If the dog is eating or sleeping, leave them alone.
• If the dog growls, don't give out to them, they are just communicating.
• If a dog chases you, stand still like a tree.
