Our Science Experiment
For Science Week 2020, we carried out an experiment to investigate the effects of different liquids on our teeth. The equipment we used was 6 hard boiled eggs, coca-cola, milk, vinegar, orange juice, mi-wadi, water and 6 plastic cups. We put each egg in a different liquid (this was the variable). We kept the amount of liquid in each cup the same (this was the constant). We left the eggs for five days. Five days later, we were shocked with the results. The orange juice and the vinegar removed the outer layer of the egg shell and discoloured the shell. This is because they are very acidic. The mi-wadi slightly discoloured the egg shell. The milk and the water had no effect on the egg. The coke stained the egg shell. This was a really interesting science investigation as it helped us to realise the effect each liquid has on our teeth.
