More Exciting News!
Back in May the Green Team took on an exciting task. We received an email telling us about a new initiative run by Coillte. They were planning on choosing a small number of schools in Ireland and planting a small native woodland in these schools. Any schools who wanted to take part had to send a video saying why they should be chosen. So we decided to apply.
The Green Team members prepared a video explaining why St George's should be chosen for the Choill Beag (meaning small forest). They wrote a script, practiced it and then recorded it to send to Coillte. Then we waited!
Yesterday we got a really exciting email:
"Congratulations – Comhghairdeas!
We are delighted to let you know St. George's NS, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin has been selected to take part in An Choill Bheag planting in your school grounds!
We were very impressed with your application and had received a wide range of applications from all around Ireland."
So we will be getting our very own mini forest in St George's next year, we can't wait!
Here is our video for you to see.
