Maths Week
Maths Week is an important way to help children of all ages to enjoy maths and highlight the creativity of the subject.
The maths games we played this week helped us to get extra practice in specific skills while having plenty of fun at the same time.
In 6th class we had opportunities to play several games including board games such as ‘Little Garden’ and chess. We also played card games such as ‘Uno’ in small groups.
‘Battleships’ was a fun activity to develop our skills using coordinates. It required lots of patience and logic!
Have you ever solved a Hallowe’en code breaker? We worked in pairs or small groups on ‘The Mystery of the Hallowe’en Party Game.’ We recalled our number facts, identified number bonds, read Roman numerals and plenty more! One group managed to solve the mystery first and won a prize. 🙂
A jar of sweets was passed from class to class and each child estimated how many sweets were in it. Samia won the jar of sweets for our class. Well done! 🍫 🍬 🍭
