Last week we celebrated Biodiversity Action Day in St George's! Firstly we took a Nature Scavenger Hunt around the school grounds looking for signs of nature! We couldn't believe all of the things that we found and saw! Next we went to the Choill Beag and planted our Spindle Tree. After we had planted our tree we all made a big wish for the year ahead. Then we went back inside and learned about all the parts of a tree. We then created 3-D trees using paper and labelled each part. Finally we learned about robins, as we have noticed lots of them around the school grounds. We then put up a bird nesting box outside of our classroom! We are really hoping that we will get to see some birds using it very soon!
