Animal Art, Food Chains and habitat lessons: Theme of Last week
Last week, we spent our SESE time learning about Animal Food Chains and all the terminology that goes with, from Producers, to Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Consumers, Apex Carnivores, and how intricate Food Webs can be. We carried our learning into group projects on animals, gathering information online ourselves. On Friday we tied our 'animal' theme in with our visual art learning of Frida Kahlo, the South American artist. She painted a picture called 'The Wounded Deer', portraying her face on the body of a deer in pain. She suffered a lot of pain and depression in life. Our task was to paint one of our own faces on a body of an animal of our choice, to convey a particular emotion. We had fun painting together in small groups. Here's some of our work!
